Sports Academy Trail Training Run on the Love Run Half Marathon Course.
This a great opportunity to experience the course before race day.

Here’s the schedule:
7:00am Check-in, Warm-up & Dynamic Stretching with Sports Academy Team
7:15am Begin Trail Run
8:30-9:00am Complimentary Recovery Yoga Session by Sports Academy Yoga Instructors

Runners will need:
Trail shoes
Water Bottles
Beach Towels for Yoga

Sports Academy running coaches will be providing a comprehensive training program in preparation for the Love Run 5K, 10K & Half Marathon on June 3, 2018. Training Program will focus on proper running progression, running form, injury prevention and proper recovery. Training will include a weekly running schedule, three group running sessions per week and 20% discount at Sport’s Academy Recovery Lounge for the duration of the training program.

8 Week Program: April 9 –June 2, 2018 (Recommended for 10K & Half Marathoners)
4 Week Program: May 7- June 2, 2018

Training Schedule:

Monday @ Sports Academy
6:00am, 9:00am or 6:00pm

Athletes will complete a strength conditioning session at our world-class facility. Sessions will focus on increasing strength endurance, balance, and mobility/flexibility. The 6:00am session will take place in the Sand Volleyball Courts at Sports Academy for an added challenge. The 9:00am and 6:00pm session will include a run (2-4 miles) and complete a strength session specific for runners.

Wednesday @ Pepper Tree Park in Newbury Park 9:00-10:15am or 6:00-7:15pm

Athletes will be placed in groups based on ability, experience and race goals for an interval workout. Interval training will help improve running efficiency, strength and speed for all race distances.

Saturday @ Various Locations on the Love Run Course
Athletes will meet Sports Academy running coaches at various locations to run portions of the Love Run 5K, 10K & Half Marathon Courses to get familiarized with the terrain for optimum performance on Race Day.

Coaches: Jenny Kenyon, Julia Budniak, Cathy Wuesthoff and Additional Trail Runners to monitor the course.
